rooftop chant gossip

Apparently they've stopped, at least in some neighborhood. I myself haven't been home between 22:00-2230 when they used to chants Allah-u Akbar etc in my neighborhood and didn't hear about any sort of official call by Mousavi or others for their followers to stop chants, but a girl at my language school said that in her neighborhood (rich north Tehran) it's stopped. Up until last week (the night of Ahmedinejad's inauguration was the last time she remembered hearing it) she said people were very loud in her neighborhood, that families would sometimes bring dinner up onto their roof together and stay up from 2100-midnight chanting. But the rumor is there were some arrests in their neighborhood, which has it seems scared the rest quiet. The story was that they walked around at night and spray painted markers on the doors of building from which chants were coming, then returned later in force. But according to this girl's father, the other night a bunch of youth went around spray paint every single door with the mark the Basijis were using, which seemed clever to me.
