in Istanbul

In a rapid turn of events I got my passport and got out of Iran in a hurry. So I guess this is the anti-climactic end to my blog. One thing that struck me getting of the plane was how many girls, even many of the fashionable types, left their headscarves on. About 80% of those who took them off had dyed light hair, running the spectrum of almost white blonde to reddish brown and maybe 10% had cornrows or other labor-intensive braided designs.
